Cliff Secord, known as the Rocketeer, is a stunt pilot who discovers a mysterious jetpack in a hidden hangar. This discovery, adapted from the Pacific Comics character, leads to a life of adventure and danger.
The character gained wider recognition with the release of the Disney movie *The Rocketeer* in 1991, starring Billy Campbell as Cliff. In this film, set in 1938 Los Angeles, Cliff uses the jetpack to fight Nazi spies and protect his loved ones, including his girlfriend Jenny Blake.
While the film is his most prominent appearance, the Rocketeer has also appeared in an animated Disney Junior TV show, *The Rocketeer*, aimed at a younger audience. This version is very different, featuring a young girl named Kit Secord who inherits the Rocketeer mantle. The TV Show premiered in 2019.
